Davide Holzknecht was born in Sondalo on April 15, 1992. Resident in Bormio he undertook school training in Val Gardena at the professional school for artistic crafts in Ortisei.
Curious by nature, he is always looking for new knowledge and new experiences. Thanks to the Val Gardena high school – supporter and promoter of craftsmanship and artistic skills – encouraged in the development of his creativity, he was able to complete his artistic education, as well as professional training.

In 2010 he obtained the certificate of end of apprenticeship as a craftsman worker. Continuing the cycle of studies, in 2011 he obtained the Specialization Diploma of Wood Carver and in 2012 he concluded it with the second specialization exam obtaining the Specialization Diploma of Wood Sculptor.
After the training acquired in the Ladin valley, the Atelier Buornillat Sculpture in Paris presented itself as the ideal opportunity to enrich the portfolio of sculptural skills thanks to the technique and the use of new composite materials.
